Ricky Bagga Recognized Among Calgary’s Top 3 Personal Injury Lawyers Advocating for Accident Victims

Calgary, Canada (PRUnderground) September 2nd, 2026

Ricky Bagga, founder of Crash Lawyers, has been named one of the top three personal injury lawyers in Calgary by ThreeBestRated®. The recognition highlights his track record of strong outcomes for injury victims across Alberta and adds independent validation to a firm built specifically around personal injury work.

Ricky shared, “Having Crash Lawyers independently recognized by ThreeBestRated gives potential clients another layer of confidence before they ever pick up the phone. We can tell people that we work hard for our clients, that we have excellent results and that client service is important to us, but it means more when an independent organization recognizes the firm as well. It has also helped with visibility. People searching online for a personal injury lawyer in Calgary are faced with a tremendous number of options. A third-party recognition helps distinguish the firm and gives somebody a reason to take a closer look at us. For me, though, the most important part is the trust factor.”

Why Ricky Practices Personal Injury Law

Ricky was drawn to personal injury law because of the direct and meaningful difference difference it lets him make in people’s lives. Clients typically come to him during one of the hardest stretches they have faced recovering from serious injuries, unable to work, worried about supporting their families, juggling medical appointments, and trying to make sense of an insurance process that wasn’t built with them in mind.

On the other side of that process sit insurance companies with far greater resources: adjusters, defence lawyers, and medical consultants among them. Ricky sees his role as leveling that playing field.

Ricky said, “Calgary is home for me. I built my career here, my family is here, my businesses are here, and I care deeply about Alberta. There is something particularly rewarding about representing people in your own community and knowing that the work you do can genuinely change the trajectory of their lives.

Over the years, personal injury law became more than just the area of law he practised. “It became something I became very passionate about, particularly when it came to standing up for injured Albertans and making sure they continue to have access to justice.

The Story Behind Crash Lawyers

Ricky built Crash Lawyers around the belief that a personal injury law firm should put the injured person first. He said, “I wanted to create a firm where personal injury wasn’t simply one department among ten different practice areas. I wanted it to be our entire focus.

He also wanted to change the traditional lawyer-client relationship. Clients should not feel like they have hired a law firm and then disappeared into a system. Instead, they should know who is handling their case, have access to their lawyer and understand what is happening and why.

There was no single moment that led Ricky to start Crash Lawyers. Rather, the idea developed through his experience in this law. Over time, he kept seeing opportunities to provide clients with a better and more personal experience.

“I wanted a firm that was aggressive when it needed to be, practical when it needed to be, and never forgot who we were actually working for”, Ricky said.

Even the name “Crash Lawyers” reflects the philosophy and its straightforwardness. “There is no mystery about what we do. If you’ve been injured in a crash, we’re the lawyers who represent you,” Ricky explains.

The Most Challenging Cases Handled by Ricky Bagga

Ricky explains that some of the most complex injury cases he has handled involved people who may look completely fine on the outside, but whose lives have changed after an accident.  A client may experience chronic pain, headaches, and sleep problems as well as cognitive difficulties or psychological injuries that are not visible on an MRI or X-ray.

Ricky said, “You have to understand who this person was before the accident, what they were capable of, what their career trajectory looked like, how they participated in their family, what they did recreationally, and then demonstrate what changed afterward.”

These cases require medical records, employment information, family accounts and expert opinions, along with the client’s own story and credibility.

Ricky said, “Those cases taught me very early that you cannot measure the seriousness of an injury simply by looking at a diagnostic image“. Sometimes, the most devastating injuries are invisible.

A Case That Struck With Ricky Bagga

For Ricky, one of the most memorable cases involved a seriously injured client whose accident affected not only a person, but also affected the whole family. The medical and legal issues were complex, and understanding the client’s long-term needs required patience.

What made the case meaningful was seeing the family’s situation change. The client initially faced uncertainty about their health, finances and future. By the end, the settlement provided financial security and allowed them to move forward.

For Ricky, “we talk about damages, liability, experts and settlement figures. But for the client, this isn’t a legal file. It’s their life.” Because the greatest reward comes from achieving positive outcomes that can change someone’s future.

Why Every Detail Matters in a Personal Injury Case

Ricky believes that even a small detail can sometimes change the entire direction of a personal injury case. That is why he places a strong focus on preparation.

A case can involve thousands of pages of medical records, employment documents, photographs, insurance paperwork, and expert reports. While the obvious evidence often gets the most attention, an important detail can sometimes be hidden in something as simple as a medical note, photograph or previous statement. Finding that one detail can challenge the other side’s argument and completely change the course of a case.

Ricky said to his lawyers that, “Don’t assume something is unimportant just because somebody else overlooked it. Keep asking questions. Keep reading. Keep digging. Very often, that is where cases are won.

Why Injury Claim Evidence Matters More Than Insurance Offers

One of the biggest lessons Ricky has learned over the course of his career is never to automatically accept someone else’s assessment of a client’s case, particularly when that assessment comes from an insurance company.

An insurer may place a value on a claim and present it as final, but Ricky believes the true value of a case is determined by the evidence, not by what an adjuster says it’s worth.

Over the years, Ricky has seen significant gaps between how a claim was initially assessed and how it was ultimately resolved. In many cases, the evidence became clearer over time, revealing a better understanding of the client’s medical condition, future treatment needs, and the long-term impact of the injury on their life and ability to work.

That experience taught Ricky two essential lessons: preparation and patience.

Preparation means taking the time to fully understand a client’s injuries, future medical needs, and potential long-term limitations. Patience is equally important. Settling a case too early can be a serious mistake, especially when the long-term effects of an injury are still unclear. Before determining a claim’s true value, a lawyer may need to understand the client’s prognosis, future treatment requirements, and ability to work.

The stakes are high because a settlement is generally final. If a client’s condition worsens later, there may be no opportunity to seek additional compensation. For that reason, Ricky believes every settlement offer should be measured against the available evidence, not accepted simply because it’s the first or largest amount an insurance company puts on the table.

Ricky said, “Sometimes the right decision is to settle. Sometimes it is to wait and gather more evidence. And sometimes, the right answer is simply to say no. Know the value of patience, and never be afraid to say no to an offer when the evidence tells you the case is worth more.”

What to Do After an Accident, According to Ricky

Ricky’s first piece of advice to anyone involved in an accident is simple: take care of your health first. That means seeking appropriate medical attention, following doctors’ recommendations, attending treatment, and being honest with healthcare providers about symptoms, even ones that seem minor at first.

The next priority is protecting the evidence. Ricky recommends photographing the vehicles, the accident scene, any visible injuries as well as collecting witness information, and reporting the accident properly, keeping records of receipts, missed work, and other expenses. If the injury is affecting day-to-day life, those changes are worth documenting too.

He also urges caution around what people say and sign. Insurance companies begin investigating a claim the moment it is reported, and giving a detailed statement, signing a release, or accepting a settlement without understanding the consequences can have a lasting impact. Ricky strongly recommends speaking with an experienced personal injury lawyer early in the process.

One of the most common mistakes he sees is assuming that feeling better a few weeks after an accident means the injury is fully resolved. That is sometimes true, but what initially looks like a minor injury can become chronic. Ricky’s concern is that people don’t discover how serious an injury really is until after they have already signed away important legal rights.

I would make sure that there are legal deadlines associated with injury claims,” Ricky said. “Don’t assume you can deal with it whenever you’re ready. Get advice early, understand your rights, and then make informed decisions.” To get more information about him, visit https://crashlawyers.ca/our-lawyers/ricky-bagga/
